Terms & Conditions

AIF Platform (“the Platform”, “we”, “us”) operates a discovery and comparison website for Alternative Investment Funds (“AIFs”) registered with the Securities and Exchange Board of India (“SEBI”). These Terms apply to two categories of users who log in to the Platform — Investors and AMCs / Fund Managers (together, “Users”) — and, where a clause applies to only one category, this is stated explicitly.

01. Acceptance of Terms

By registering on, logging into, or otherwise using AIF Platform, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions, our Privacy Policy, and all applicable law, including the SEBI (Alternative Investment Funds) Regulations, 2012, as amended from time to time, and all applicable SEBI circulars and master circulars issued thereunder. If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, you must discontinue use of the Platform immediately.

02. What the Platform Is

AIF Platform is an information and comparison utility. We aggregate and present publicly available and AMC-submitted information about SEBI-registered AIFs so that eligible investors can research and compare funds. We are not a SEBI-registered investment adviser, portfolio manager, merchant banker, or distributor, and nothing on the Platform constitutes an offer, solicitation, or recommendation to buy, sell, or subscribe to units of any AIF, unless separately and explicitly stated for a specific regulated activity we are licensed to perform.

03. Investor Eligibility

AIFs are privately pooled investment vehicles available only to investors who qualify under the SEBI (AIF) Regulations, 2012. As on the effective date of these Terms, this generally includes:

  • A minimum investment of ₹1 crore per investor (₹25 lakh for employees, directors, or fund managers of the AIF, where permitted), subject to the specific scheme's placement memorandum;
  • Status as an eligible investor under applicable law — including high net-worth individuals, family offices, and institutional investors — and, for schemes that are required to raise capital only from accredited investors under the applicable accreditation framework, valid accreditation status;
  • Any additional eligibility, KYC, or accreditation criteria prescribed by SEBI or by the specific AMC/fund from time to time.

It is solely your responsibility to confirm that you meet all applicable eligibility criteria, including accreditation status where required, before pursuing or making any investment. We do not verify investor eligibility or accreditation on your behalf, and listing on the Platform is not confirmation of your eligibility for any specific fund.

04. AMC / Fund Listing Requirements

This clause applies to AMCs, fund managers, sponsors, and their authorised representatives (“AMC Users”) who register on the Platform to list a fund or scheme.
  • Only AIFs holding a valid, current SEBI registration (registration number in the format IN/AIF1/…, IN/AIF2/…, or IN/AIF3/…) may be listed on the Platform.
  • The AMC User is responsible for the accuracy, completeness, and currency of all information, disclosures, performance data, and documents (including the Placement Memorandum) submitted for listing, and must promptly notify us of any material change, including changes to registration status, scheme status, or compliance standing.
  • By submitting a fund for listing, the AMC User represents that it is authorised to do so on behalf of the AIF and its manager/sponsor, and that the fund complies with the SEBI (AIF) Regulations, 2012 and all applicable master circulars in force.

05. Debarment & Regulatory Action

For AMCs & Funds

We monitor regulatory status on a reasonable-efforts basis and reserve the right to independently verify the standing of any listed AMC or fund at any time.

If an AMC, fund manager, sponsor, or any listed fund/scheme is debarred, restrained, suspended, or otherwise subject to an adverse direction by SEBI — including any interim or temporary order, and irrespective of its duration or the outcome of any subsequent appeal — we will remove that AMC and/or fund from the Platform for the duration of such action. Listing will not be reinstated until the debarment or restraining order is formally lifted, vacated, or has lapsed, and we have independently verified the fund's/AMC's regulatory standing. We reserve the right to take this action without prior notice to the AMC User, and to require the AMC User to promptly disclose any such order to us upon it being passed.

06. No Investment Advice or Recommendation

For Investors

Nothing displayed on AIF Platform — including fund comparisons, rankings, categorisations, performance figures, or editorial content — is, or should be construed as, a recommendation, endorsement, or solicitation to invest in any particular AIF, AMC, or scheme. We do not recommend any investment, and the order or manner in which funds appear on the Platform is not investment advice. Any decision to invest is made entirely at your own discretion and risk.

07. Data Accuracy & No Liability for Data

For Investors

Fund data, performance figures, and disclosures shown on the Platform are sourced from AMCs, fund managers, and other third-party or public sources. While we take reasonable care in presenting this information, we do not independently audit, verify, or guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of any data displayed on the Platform, and AIF Platform is not responsible or liable for any error, omission, delay, or inaccuracy in such data, or for any loss or decision made in reliance on it. You should independently verify all material information — including current SEBI registration status — directly with the AMC or on the official SEBI website before making any decision.

08. No Guarantee of Returns

All investments in AIFs are subject to market risk, including the possibility of partial or complete loss of capital. Any performance data or historical figures shown on the Platform are for reference only and are not indicative of, nor a guarantee of, future returns.

09. Investor Responsibility

All information on the Platform is provided for research purposes only. Any investment decision you make is entirely your own responsibility. We strongly recommend that you seek independent financial, legal, and tax advice before committing capital to any fund. AIF Platform and its team accept no liability for losses arising from decisions made on the basis of information obtained from the Platform.

10. Privacy & Personal Data

Personal information and data shared with us — by both Investor and AMC Users — is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy. We use it only for legitimate, lawful purposes connected to operating the Platform, and do not share it with third parties except where required by law, necessary to facilitate a service you have requested, or with your consent.

11. Conflicts of Interest

We are committed to transparency in how information is presented. Where a conflict of interest exists — including in relation to how any fund is featured, ranked, or compared — we will disclose it clearly, in line with applicable SEBI guidance on the conduct of intermediaries and information platforms.

12. Suspension & Termination of Access

We may suspend or terminate any User's access to the Platform, without prior notice, where we reasonably believe there has been a breach of these Terms, a breach of applicable law, or — in the case of an AMC User — where the fund or AMC becomes subject to adverse regulatory action as described in Clause 5.

13. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, AIF Platform, its officers, employees, and affiliates shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential loss arising from (a) use of, or inability to use, the Platform; (b) reliance on any information, data, or content displayed on it; or (c) any investment decision made by an Investor User, or any listing decision affecting an AMC User.

14. Grievance Redressal

If you have a concern regarding these Terms or your use of the Platform, please contact us first at grievance@aifplatform.com . Most issues can be resolved without recourse to formal proceedings. Investor grievances relating to a specific SEBI-registered AIF may also be raised through SEBI's SCORES portal or the applicable Online Dispute Resolution (ODR) mechanism prescribed by SEBI.

15. Governing Law & Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Any dispute arising from your use of the Platform will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts in New Delhi, India.

16. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes in applicable SEBI regulations, master circulars, or our own practices. The “Effective Date” at the top of this page will be updated accordingly, and continued use of the Platform after such changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

17. Contact

If you have any concerns or require clarification on these Terms, please contact us at help@aifplatform.com before using the Platform.
